WHY YOU WOULD LIKE TO TAKE PART IN THIS PROJECT?
I'd love to have some visual reminders of our BF journey. It isn't usually a time where other people are around or would take photos. I want to see the photos and remember the incredible feeling of holding him close, nourishing him and building the amazing bond we have. Photos are such an important way of normalising breastfeeding, sometimes people don't want to read a big blurb about why breastfeeding is so important or they feel like they're being lectured but photos are so powerful and portray so much more than my words ever could.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR BREASTFEEDING JOURNEY SO FAR?
It started off rocky with tongue tie and oversupply issues. However the support from DPOW hospital where he was born and the North Lincs breastfeeding team helped us successfully feed quicker than I thought possible.
It's so much easier and less scary than I expected it to be and the time we spend together, just us, even when it's 4am and my eyes couldn't be heavier, it feels so precious and I never want to forget it.
My oversupply issues have had a positive outcome too as I'm able to donate my milk to a baby born via surrogacy whose mama is going above and beyond to ensure she is breastfed.
